Android's 50 tips & tricks

Android is a great little operating system mobile for a modern smartphone, but can become a little confusing and complex for newcomers.

Google search to make everyone feel at home by providing multiple layers of screen options and hundreds of tweakable settings can leave people a little lost, plus there are widgets you need to worry, the Home screen layout and many more are hidden under the green hat Google.

So here, to make things a little easier for newcomers to Android and those who seek power some more tips, we present Android 50 important facts and techniques.

These tips are mostly for version 2.1 of Android, which is by far the most common form of OS out there today - but many suggestions will also work on older versions and newer boutique varieties and they skinned by some device makers hard.

	
Enable Power Strip Android
The most important feature in Android 2.1 is the built-in power strip widget. Here, you can quickly remove all the phones battery-destroying features, like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a GPS Batter Killer Great. Long-tap on the screen and install it through the widget category.

Bypass opens Android slide
You do not need to slide the screen locker to bring your phone out of standby. A press the Menu button twice the phone will wake you up, as long as a manufacturer you have not removed that feature from the skin.
	
Confirmed deletion
Pressing the Menu while in the Gallery allows you to turn off the delete confirmation dialog, which can shave seconds still distant time management of your photo.
	
Alternative text fields

Tips Cepat Membuat Brightness di beberapa HH Samsung, Mungkin Selain Samsung Bisa

Kadang kita siang2 sulit melihat kalau brightnesnya di off.
kalau buka setting dulu sudah makan 3 step.
ada caranya tinggal di tap kita bisa atur langsung brightness di HH kita.
cara ini sudah di coba di seluruh samsung android, mungkin bisa di selain samsung coba aja.
caranya:
1. tekan pojok kanan atas selama 2 detik - 4 detik. Nanti brightness akan langsung 100%
2. tekan paling tengah atas selama 2 detik - 4 detik. Nanti brightness akan langsung 50%
3. tekan diatas situ di mana saja nanti akan sesuai persentasenya.

Fix Masalah Font Karakter Kotak

Banyak yg bertanya masalah ini tapi saya bingung jwbnya karena pake hh sendiri selalu baik2 saja, nah kalau begitu saya coba olah pesan yg dari Muhamad Wahab ini

kay…

karena banyak yg nanya kenapa yah autotext nya ada yang kotak2, tilisan arabnya jadi kotak, gak kebaca dll…

semua ini maslahnya ada di font nya itu sendiri yg gak suport..

tapi ane pas jala-jalan di kaskus gak sengaja nemu theard nya http://kask.us/2841203, disan ada banyak font yag suport sama logo-icon BB, tulisan arab dll

nah dari sekian banyak font yg paling cocok tuh Droid Sans v7x karena ini asli fontnya android

cukup dah basa-basingnya lanjut ke cara pasangnya aja deh…cekidot:

CARA 1

Instal menggunakan x-recovery (xperia family), custom recovery (optimus family), cwm/amonRA recovery (HTC+Juned), Samsung recovery (power+volum down begitu hh dinyalain).

cara install:

1. copy file yg tadi udah di download ke sdcard

2. masuk ke recovery. pilih custom zip

3. choose from sdcard

2. download aplikasi Font Changer di market

3. extrac fille DroidSans v7x by ihint.zip yg ambil DroidSans v7x by ihint.ttf terus copy ke folder .fontchanger di sdcard

4. buka font changer secara otomatis font DroidSans v7x by ihint.ttf muncul

5. tinggal teken ato klik aja font nya ntr muncul pilihan, tinggal pilih set trus aplly tunggu sebentar and reboot

6. sudah deh bers sekarang fontnya sudah  support logo-icon BB, tulisan arab dll

CARA 3 (dari Gita Indrawanoor,dibantu dikit oleh Om Fahri)

cara manual (gag pake fontchanger dkk)

1. download font disini http://db.tt/YyRnMw4

2. extract kemudian masukan disdcard

3. copy and paste font tadi di /system/fonts

4. replace ajha :D

5.lihat dulu permision font bawaan...kalau udah copas timpa ajah, jgn lpa samakan permisionnya dari font bawaan yang udah di lihat tadi .. (untuk menghindari bootlop)

6. reboot

NB : harus root (gunakan root explore untuk copy and paste jangan lupa dimount)

Pengalaman saya kalo pake font changer karakter Bold-nya jadi ilang, trus fontnya lebih gede, jadi pada Menu Option kebanyakan karakternya kepotong bagian atasnya ¼ bagian.. oleh karenanya saya lebih suka manual, saya pake terminal.. :p

 

1.... download font-nya dar link2 diatas.

2. Extract kalo masih terkompres (.zip / .rar)

3. Rename jadi DroidSansFallback.ttf.

4. Taro aja di root sdcard nya biar gampang utk proses selanjutnya

5. Buka Terminal Emulator ketik perintah dibawah ini :

$ su

# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system

# chmod 4755 /system/fonts/DroidSansFal

lback.ttf

# dd if=/sdcard/DroidSansFallback.ttf of=/system/fonts/DroidSans

Fallback.ttf

6. Enjoy, dan ngga usah di restart.. udah langsung kebaca font2 alay-nya.. :p

 

note: tanda "$" artinya sebelum masuk super user sedangkan tanda "#" setelah masuk super user.. jadi baik tanda "$" dan tanda "#" ngga usah diketik.. itu hanya penanda bahwa perintah tersebut ditulis 1 line sebelum kemudian dienter.. demikian dari saya.. semoga membantu..
